WWI General Pershing Collar Eagle Insignia Sterling GP
This is a very rare item not found in most collections. You are bidding for a set of two. This is based on a collar insignia worn by General “Black Jack” Pershing, one of our nations only two, six star Generals. It is an Eagle US Seal collar insignia and has three sew on loops on the back. This type of insignia dates from 1892 and was not used much after 1906 but a few were used until WWI. This insignia is 1 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/16 inch wide. A picture of these can be found on page 600 of Encyclopedia of United States Army Insignia and Uniforms. These are gold plated sterling.
