Post WWII Paratrooper Badge BB&B Design Sterling Pin Back
This is a museum quality reproduction of the first US Paratrooper badge in sterling silver of the rare BB&B design. The first paratrooper badge was made by BB&B and only 350 were made back in 1941 for the 501st Parachute Battalion. Then after the war due to requests from veterans BB&B once again produced badges from the original dies. The changed location of the trademark and added a date in the lower corner to show this was not one of the 1941 issue. These restrikes are extremely rare. As was the first badge this one is rather thick and about double in weight of most other paratrooper badges. It is 1 1⁄2 inches wide. This is an excellent example of this badge, with the proper hallmark, that is affordable until a real one comes along.
