Parachute pin with man sterling Pioneer Parachute Co
In the mid 1960’s the Pioneer Parachute Company made these pins for the start of sport jumping. They were never made for the military and because of this are very hard to find. Some people sell these as the rare caterpillar club pins for any military whose life was saved by using a Pioneer Chute, which is false. If you look closely you can tell this parachute has glide panels that did not exist during WWII. This type of jumping became popular during the Vietnam era. This is a museum quality reproduction in sterling silver of this pin.
